CLASS DESCRIPTIONS
Ready/Set/Dance (18 months - Up)
A Mommy & Me class that will stimulate the mind and body and set into motions your child's love of dance! While using the use of imagery, music and props your child will explore dance while using their own natural ability for movement expression.
Toddlerdance (3 - 4 yrs)
Our Toddlerdance classes will introduce basic ballet steps and mat work while incorporating movement expression and imagery. Tap dancing is introduce the second half of the dance year, learning basic tap steps and continuing to develop coordination.
Kinderdance (4 1/2 - 5 1/2 yrs)
Our kinderdance classes continue to teach the fundamentals of tap and ballet in a fun yet structured environment, while continuing creative expression.
Tap/Ballet (6 - 7 yrs
This one hour class will begin to strengthen the dancer in their technique as well as extend their dance vocabulary. The dancer will begin simple ballet barre exercises and start to progress further in their tap technique.
Ballet/Jazz II (7 1/2 - 8 1/2 yrs)
This class will introduce jazz technique with the emphasis on proper body placement while continuing to advance in ballet technique.
Ballet/Jazz III (9 - 10 1/2 yrs)
This class is a continuation of Ballet/Jazz II focusing on strengthening the foundation of ballet and progressing further in jazz technique.
Ballet
This form of dance teaches proper body placement through extensive barre work and center floor technique. These classes are extremely focused and geared toward the growth of the dancer.
Tap
Tap technique is taught through barre exercises, center floor combinations, and progressions across the floor. This is a rhythmical form of dance learning musicality, timing and coordination.
Jazz
A stylized form of dance based upon proper body alignment, strength, flexibility and self discipline. This style of dance has a syncopated rhythmic pattern and is energetic and lively.
Modern Zumba/Adult Dance Fitness
A contemporary form of dance that teaches different techniques of modern dance. The use of space, timing, floor work and music are explored. A ballet background is needed.
Lyrical
Lyrical is a fusion of jazz and ballet. An expressive form of dance where the music and lyrics are interrupted through the dancers movements. A ballet background is needed.
Hip- Hop
This style of dance is revolved around the latest funk moves. It is a fun and freer style of dance and is often referred to as street dancing.
A high energy, moderate impact class involving free style dance and body conditioning. A great class for cardio and staying fit.
